145th Chickamauga draws thousands

For once Bragg had done something right. The location he had found for his army to rest was perfect. The land was open, there was some shade, and Chickamauga Creek was right beside the camp. Yes, for once the Army of Tennessee of Tennessee was happy with their commander.

"Skirmishers!"

The camp jumped to life. The Union army had stumbled into their valley. For the next few days one of the bloodiest battles would take place near the small town of Chickamauga, Ga.

One hundred and forty-five years later, close to 4,000 reenactors gathered on the banks of Chickamauga Creek, in McLemore’s Cove, Ga., to relive and honor   <<Full Story >>
